A blog to discover wine tourism in Ossola

Mar 12, 2021 | Ossola Vine Club English

Why did we start the blog?

Wine is essential in life, presents in almost every corner worldwide, from a kitchen table to a fine dining restaurant. It may not be exaggerated to consider the vine-growers and wine-makers as the artists who work hard every year to turn grapes into wine. With the development of tourism, people are increasingly interested in getting deeper into this world, not only to taste the wine but also to listen to each bottle’s stories. And this is how wine tourism is getting more and more popular in recent years.

Nowadays, one of the typical ways tourists reach for a wine tasting or experiences is via the internet; therefore, we decided to start a blog connected with Ossola Vine Club. We hope that Ossola Vine Club can connect wine lovers worldwide and be an open source for all people, all genders and ages interested in wine as much as the Ossola vine-growing and wine-making.

Who is behind the blog?

Hi, let me introduce myself: my name is Federica, and I am a 23-year-old girl from Ossola.

Currently, I am carrying out an internship at the end of the course to obtain a master’s degree at the Azienda Agricola Edoardo Patrone (Borgata Baceno, Domodossola) with the owners Edoardo and Stella. I hope to learn as much as possible and to be able to share my contribution to the development of wine tourism in Ossola.

My scholastic path begins at the linguistic high school in Domodossola, where I studied English, French and German. Later, I chose to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Nice after participating in the ESABAC project (equivalent to the French secondary school exit exam). At university, I attended the faculty of applied languages: specifically I studied English and Portuguese, management, economics and law. After the first experience in France, I chose to continue my university career in Bordeaux, where I am enrolled in the course of “Languages, business and interculturality: wine economy, wine tourism and interculturality” to obtain a master’s degree.

Why the world of wine

I decided to approach the wine tourism world because my dearest childhood memories are significantly linked to one of my grandparents and his vineyard: the whole family gathered for the harvest and not only sharing moments of convivialityjoycheerfulness, and intimacy. All this helped me understand the job that I would like to do to give the same emotions to other people.

Stay tuned to discover with me all the beauty and secrets of the Ossola valley.
