About us
Our story
We are a young company founded in Domodossola, in the heart of the Ossola Valley. For over ten years we have been producing liquid happiness, reclaiming old vineyards and continuing the winemaking tradition of these mountains.
A story of place, passion and new perspectives, among the mountains of the Ossola Valley.
A life in wine
Edoardo, a lifelong wine enthusiast, after obtaining his degree in Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Turin, worked for a time in Barolo, Spain and then Australia.
During the years spent away from home, he always held on to one clear desire: to return to the mountains of the Ossola Valley, reclaim vineyards that had long been abandoned and continue the centuries-old winemaking tradition of the area.
The first chapter
In 2016, Edoardo left his job in Australia, returned to Domodossola and opened the winery. Alongside the typical challenges of a new business, he found himself facing increasingly unpredictable viticulture and the gradual decline in vineyards in the area.
In 2017, he met Stella Tâm Vũ, a Vietnamese student nearing graduation in Switzerland. That same year, they got married and, together with a team of young winegrowers, began the company's first chapter, producing the first vintage according to the principle “Be Natural”.
Since 2016, one vineyard at a time
Since 2016, great strides have been made. Starting with just 0.3 hectares, the company has reclaimed over 28 micro-vineyards, for a total of approximately 5 hectares cultivated in the Ossola Valley.
Most of the vines are between 30 and 100 years old, with some still ungrafted, and are located between 450 and 650 metres above sea level. Continuing to grow vines and produce wine here means carrying on a tradition deeply connected to the northernmost area of Alto Piemonte.
Since the first 2017 vintage, red and rosé wines have been produced, mainly from Merlot grapes and Prünent, the local name for the Nebbiolo biotype in the Ossola Valley. In 2019, Basin, an extra-dry rosé sparkling wine made using the Martinotti Method and the first sparkling wine from the Ossola Valley, was added.
In 2020, the first new vineyard was planted in Vagna and in 2021, development began on “La Sbarbatella”, a cosmetics line that recovers grape skins to transform them into beauty products.
