Enoturismo in Val d'Ossola

A blog to discover wine tourism in Ossola

Federica introduces herself: an intern at Edoardo Patrone Farm and the voice of this blog dedicated to wine tourism, viticulture and the secrets of the Val d'Ossola.

Why we started this blog

Wine is essential to life, found in almost every corner of the world, from the family table to fine dining restaurants. It is not an exaggeration to think of winegrowers as artists who work every year to transform grapes into wine. With the growth of tourism, more and more people are interested in discovering this world, not only to taste wine but also to hear the story behind every bottle. This is how wine tourism has become increasingly popular in recent years, even in lesser-known areas such as the Val d’Ossola.

Today, tourists find wine tastings and wine-related experiences mainly online. We therefore decided to create a blog linked to the Ossola Wine Club, which can connect wine lovers from all over the world and become a resource for anyone interested in viticulture and winemaking in Ossola.

Who is behind the blog

Hello, let me introduce myself: my name is Federica, and I am a 23-year-old woman from Ossola. I am currently completing an end-of-course internship at Azienda Agricola Edoardo Patrone (Borgata Baceno, Domodossola) with the owners, Edoardo and Stella, in order to obtain my master’s degree. I hope to learn as much as possible and contribute to the development of wine tourism in Ossola.

My educational journey began at the language-focused secondary school in Domodossola, where I studied English, French and German. I then chose to complete my bachelor’s degree in Nice after taking part in the ESABAC programme (equivalent to the French baccalaureate). At university, I studied applied languages, particularly English and Portuguese, management, economics and law. After my first experience in France, I chose to continue my university career in Bordeaux, where I enrolled in the course “Languages, Business and Interculturality: Wine Economics, Wine Tourism and Interculturality” to obtain my master’s degree.

Why the world of wine

I decided to enter the world of wine tourism because my fondest childhood memories are closely linked to one of my grandparents and his vineyard: the whole family gathered for the grape harvest, sharing moments of togetherness, joy, cheerfulness and intimacy. All this helped me understand the work I would like to do, to give the same emotions to other people.

What you will find on this blog
